STYLEGUIDE BLACK & WHITE

Black and white looks are timeless and versatile and are right back in fashion. You can currently find exciting styling tips on this topic in every fashion magazine. The great thing about this fashion trend is that you usually already have black and white "classics" in your wardrobe, now it's just a matter of what you combine and how creatively you style the look. Whether for a party, the office or everyday life - black and white are always a good choice! 🖤

1. Business-Chic in Black and White:
  • A black suit or a black dress with a white blazer or simply a white or black accessory will give you an elegant look.
  • It also works the other way round: combine a white dress with a wide-cut black blazer or an elegant black accessory. Simply add a black bag for a stylish look.

2. Casual Chic in Black and White:
  • Wear a white blouse with black jeans and sneakers for a casual look. With black pumps, I can conjure up a rock look in no time at all.
  • Keep the color palette limited to black and white to maintain contrast.

 3. Winter Whites:
  • Combine black jeans and a long coat with a white turtleneck sweater.
  • Accessories such as a hat and scarf in black will keep you warm and add a modern touch to your outfit.

4. Sommer Whites:
Monochrome look in white - it's not just for brides! It will make you the highlight of any summer party. If you end up with too much "white", simply add a special kind of color contrast with small black accessories such as shoe clips, necklaces or a black clutch.
5. Muster Mix in Black & White:
Go for patterns and unusual cuts to set accents. Polka dots, houndstooth and bouclé or simple black and white striped patterns are all the rage:

  • Houndstooth pattern: The meeting of mostly white warp threads with black weft threads creates the unmistakable checks, the corners of which are elongated. This pattern is reminiscent of the claw marks of a rooster - hence the name "houndstooth".
  • Polka dots: This classic pattern is an arrangement of black, white or colored dots on a plain background. The fabric design has its origins on the dance floor: the polka dot pattern owes its name to the polka dance, in which women wore polka-dotted clothing. How to style polka dots: For beginners: Polka dots look very romantic, feminine and playful - polka dot tops such as blouses or shirts are suitable for beginners. Polka dots look chic and casual in combination with jeans.
  • Bouclé in black/white: Bouclé fabric is a coarsely textured fabric made from fancy yarns. The yarn consists of various nubs, knots and loops. This creates the typical irregular surface that gives it its special look. Is bouclé still modern? Oh yes, few garments are as iconic as the bouclé jacket. Made famous by Coco Chanel in the 1950s, they are now back in fashion thanks to modern interpretations.
By the way: there are numerous black and white shoe clips in the GLORIELLAS portfolio that make it easy to create your  BLACK & WHITE look: black shoes can be found in every wardrobe, white shoes are probably rather rare. Perhaps the BLACK & WHITE trend is the opportunity to bring your white BRIDE SHOES back on stage and breathe new life into them with a stylish accessory?
